About the Opportunity
WOLF is looking for a full-time Director of Technology, Embedded Systems based in Aurora, ON (hybrid/remote). Remote work may be considered within Canada or the USA if hybrid in Aurora, ON is not possible.
Reporting to the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in leading the creation of a new embedded systems portfolio, combining deep technical expertise with strategic direction to build and scale a high-performance engineering team.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for driving the development of embedded system architectures, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, and leading market engagement to support WOLF’s continued growth in aerospace and defense.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Owning and executing the embedded systems technology roadmap
- Driving solution architecture and integration for edge-focused sensor compute applications
- Leading team recruitment, mentorship, and development for advanced engineering capabilities
- Ensuring compliance with system-level certifications and industry standards
- Collaborating with sales and business development teams to support client engagements
- Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and partnership opportunities
- Developing and presenting technical proposals and business cases for new product initiatives

About You
To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 8+ years of experience in embedded systems engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
A strong background in embedded systems engineering, including the hands-on design and development of embedded system architectures and hardware/software integrated platforms for edge computing in aerospace and defense applications, is essential for success in this role. While product/business management experience is an asset, strong technical expertise is essential, with support available to develop business and customer-facing skills as needed.
Eligibility Requirements
WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP and ITAR requirements. As a condition of employment, applicants must be able to provide valid documentation to show Canadian or US citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residency and undergo a police check with no criminal background.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Proficiency in systems integration involving FPGAs, GPUs (including NVIDIA), and high-speed networking such as 400/800 GigE and fiber optics
- Familiarity with technologies such as PCI Express, ConnectX, Bluefield, and associated software layers like RoCE/RDMA, OFED_MNLX, DOCA, and DPDK
- Familiarity with environmental testing and designing to environmental standards, including system-level certifications and compliance for aerospace and defense
- Background in architecting solutions involving sensor processing, electronic warfare (EW), radar, and high-performance compute modules
- Understanding of software frameworks and architectures and how data should efficiently be moved between processors to optimize for SWaP-C
- System Level Certifications Experience or Understanding
- Prior work experience in or alongside customer-facing technical roles such as Field Application Engineer (FAE), Solutions Architect, or technical sales engineering
- Capability to map out product roadmaps, develop internal IP strategies, and evaluate emerging technologies for business alignment
- Familiarity with product design lifecycle in mission-critical environments, with cross-functional collaboration across electrical, software, and mechanical engineering
