About the Opportunity
WOLF is looking for a full-time Sr. Engineer, Systems based in Aurora, Ontario (hybrid with remote flexibility after an initial on-site ramp-up). If you are applying from the USA, a remote position may be considered.
Reporting to the Director, Technology – Safety Certifiable Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in leading systems engineering activities for safety-certifiable solutions within a growing, multidisciplinary team.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for defining system architecture, ensuring compliance with aerospace and defence standards, and coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts from design through to verification and certification.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading requirements definition, decomposition, and traceability using SysML tools
- Developing and managing high-level system architecture and technical specifications across hardware, software, and firmware
- Overseeing verification and validation efforts, including test planning and coordination with the V&V team
- Ensuring compliance with aerospace and defence standards
- Performing risk assessments and system safety analysis, including FTA (Fault tree analysis), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and defining Development Assurance Level (DAL) requirements
- Coordinating subsystem and component integration to achieve end-to-end functionality
- Serving as a key technical liaison with customer and contractor stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the team

About You
To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, along with 10+ years of systems engineering experience in the aerospace or defence industry, including hands-on work with safety-certifiable systems and multidisciplinary integration.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of systems architecture, requirements decomposition, and traceability across software, hardware, and firmware components.
Eligibility Requirements
WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP and ITAR requirements. As a condition of employment, applicants must be able to provide valid documentation to show Canadian or US citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residency and undergo a police check with no criminal background.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Proven experience with tools SysML such as Cameo or MagicDraw
- Deep understanding of aerospace and defence standards including DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754/4761, and DO-297
- Familiarity with System Safety Assessment, FTA, and FMECA for determining and meeting Design Assurance Levels
- Hands-on experience with system integration, validation/verification, and requirements-based testing
- Ability to liaise with customers and internal teams to manage technical discussions, proposals, and system reviews
- Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE), test case documentation, and audit preparation (asset)
- Working knowledge of avionics subsystems, certifiable RTOS (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity), embedded Linux, GPU computing, and video standards (asset)
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, AMD/Xilinx FPGAs, and AI or machine learning-based solutions (asset)
