Your Mission Brief
WOLF is looking for a full-time Sr. Engineer, Business Development to join our team. This role requires regular travel across the United States, approximately once per month.
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in providing pre-sales technical support and driving sales growth for WOLF’s advanced technology solutions, supporting customers across the Northeastern United States and internationally.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing client relationships, providing technical expertise, and supporting the sales team throughout the sales cycle.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide pre-sales technical support to prospective clients.
- Lead customer and conference calls
- Manage a list of clients from support through the sales cycle to closed business.
- Meet tight deadlines to respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Work to understand end-user applications and associated technology requirements, including, but not limited to, system architecture block diagrams, schematics and their synergistic associated component technologies.
- Create detailed proposals and written documentation.
- Provide product, service, and technical engineering information, responding to tough questions and requests.
- Identify potential customers, create new accounts, collect data and organize information, and plan and schedule appointments for sales calls.
- Prepare cost estimates by studying Bill of Materials (BOM) plans and related customer documents while consulting with engineers and other professional and technical personnel.
- Contribute to CRM and forecasting by completing the necessary pipeline, data entry, and lead management.
- Consult directly with existing and potential new customers (high-level technical people) in all phases of the sales and account management life cycle.
- Attend trade shows and conferences as a representative of WOLF to promote products and establish new business relationships.
- Evaluate customers’ current technical capabilities and conduct a needs assessment, including platforms, hardware, operating systems, and more.
- Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and current customers and other persons able to understand their service requirements.
Your Edge
To qualify, you will need 5+ years of proven sales or technical support experience, ideally in the Embedded Solutions Market, and 5+ years of proven engineering experience, with a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, software, or aerospace. You must also have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
What You Bring to the Table
- Proficiency in reading datasheets and understanding requirements
- Capability to troubleshoot hardware and software-related problems
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with XMC, VPX, NVIDIA, OpenVPX, FPGA, AMD, PCIe, GPU, and other relevant standards
- Knowledge of SOSA, CMOSS, VICTORY, and similar standards
- Developed engineering experience in the military/defence/aerospace (asset)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Established contacts and relationships within the defence and aerospace industries
- Background in graphics (asset)
- Military service, Secret certification, and/or security clearance (assets)
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
